TPACK model

 


The TPACK ( Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) model is a framework that describes the integration of technology into teachings in a meaningful and effective way. TPACK stands for Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge, and it is a conceptual model that combines three key areas;

1. Content Knowledge

2. Pedagogical Knowledge

3. Technological Knowledge

The TPACK model is important in education because it provides a comprehensive framework for effectively integrating technology into teaching and learning. It guides curriculum development, supports innovative teaching methods, and enhances students engagement. the model also promotes reflective teaching and improves teacher professional development, helping educators prepare students for the future and achieve better learning outcomes.

Lesson objectives;

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to;

  • Differentiate between living and non-living things appropriately

  • Understand the characteristics of living and non-living things correctly 

  • Apply the knowledge of living and non-living things in their environment and recognize them appropriately. 


Lesson introduction (5 minutes)

- Begin the lesson by asking students what they know about living and non-living things.

- Show them a slideshow or ppt featuring examples of living and non-living things;

Lesson development(15 minutes)

Activity, 

Divide the class into two groups.

Take them out in the school surroundings to observe different things and objects around them. 

Encourage them to recognize it as living and non-living things and take note in their book. 

When they are back to the classroom, let them share their findings to the class. 

 -When they are done with their sharing, explain the characteristics of living and non-livng things.

- Provide examples of living and non-living things.

- Provide handout worksheets in pair to categorize various objects as living and non-living things. 


Follow up (10minutes)

Let the students watch a video on living and non-living things to be more clear about the topic,

Closure(10 minutes) 

- wrap up the lesson by asking students few questions on the topic, questions can be;

  1. What is living and non-living things.

  2. Provide three examples of living and non-living things.

  3. Share two characteristics of living and non-living things. 

- Once they are done, ask them if they have any doubt about the topic, clear the doubts and close the lesson.
